The Weinberg Memorial Library Collection is enriched by the addition of books to mark special occasions, memorial donations, and gift donations. Special Occasion books mark an event such as receipt of an award, a special birthday or anniversary. A memorial donation may be made either by designating an amount and subject area of interest for a book plated addition to the collection or by making a donation to the Friends of the Weinberg Memorial Library Endowment. Families also donate book collections in memory of the owner of the books.
A book plate with the name of the person who is being remembered or honored and the name of the donor is placed in each gift book. Last year, the Library added 2,195 gift books. This large number includes titles from the collections of Attorney Patrick T. Ryan and Rabbi Emeritus Milton Richman.
