Research Tools - Spring 2000
If you've ever wondered what happened to your suggestion for the purchase of a new book or video, or, perhaps, what books and videos have been purchased and received within the past few weeks or months, Donna Ramos, our Cataloger, has devised a way to answer your question. By adding a subject heading, NEW BOOKS, to the bibliographical record, she has made it possible to retrieve a listing of the books added to the collection from the first to the end of each month.
From the DRA Classic OPC, type "s =new books" or "s=new media" for the most recent acquisitions- From DRA Information Gateway, choose Find, Subject, and type "New Books" or "New Media" in the subject line. From Web2 Easy Search, type "New Books" or "New Media" in the box and choose Subject search.
To learn which books and videos have been added to the collection since October 1998, use the following methods. From DRA Classic OPC, type "i=98/99" or "i=99/00" for the 1998.1999 or 1999-2000 academic year and then the departmental code. From DRA Information Gateway, choose Find, Numeric, Book Number and the type "98/99" or "99/00" for the 1998-1999 or 1999-2000 academic year and the departmental code. From Web2 Easy Search, choose Advanced Search, Numeric Searches, type in "98/99" or "99/00" and the departmental code; click on ISBN.
