The Impact of Scholarship and Open Access Journals
The Library successfully administered the web based LibQUAL+™ assessment of users' perceptions in Spring 2006. LibQUAL+™ was initiated at Texas A & M in 2000 as an experimental project for benchmarking perceptions of library service in ARL libraries. > Full story
Marywood and University of Scranton Libraries Receive Cooperative Grant
The libraries at Marywood University and the University of Scranton have been awarded a cooperative grant to conduct an assessment of information literacy skills of students entering their respective colleges. This competitive grant is designed to foster cooperation and communication among library faculty at both institutions. > Full story
Virtual Reference Updates: Collaboration and Growth
Data collected from the focus group research conducted by Professor Bonnie Oldham during the fall 2005 semester is being utilized by the Library staff to improve the usability of the Library’s web site. The University of Scranton in collaboration with the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) has been offering a 24/7 virtual chat reference service since the beginning of the fall 2004 semester. Virtual Chat is provided in addition to our e-mail reference service, which is available to the both the University and community at large. > Full story
