Alexander Street Press’s Video Journal of Counseling and Therapy

Alexander Street Counseling provides the largest and richest online collection of video available for the study of counseling, social work, psychotherapy, psychology, and psychiatric counseling.

Annual Reviews

A searchable database for bibliographic records from 1984-1995. Provides annual reviews of to over 29 fields in three subject areas (biology and medical sciences, physical sciences, and social sciences). Full-text from 1996 to the present. Updated annually.

Cabell's Directories of Publishing Opportunities

Information on nearly 2000 journals in business (accounting, finance, management, marketing, economics), more than 700 journals in education (curriculum, administration, educational psychology), and 400 journals in psychology. Entries include name of the journal, address, contact information, circulation figures, subject areas of the journal, guidelines for submitting manuscripts, reviewing process, and acceptance rates, when available. The index in each directory is by subject emphasis of the journal and by type of reviewing process

CINAHL with Full Text

Full text for nearly 600 of the 2,950 journals indexed dating back to 1981. CINAHL covers nursing, bio, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. Offers complete coverage of English language nursing journals and publications from the National League for Nursing and the American Nurses' Association. In addition, this database offers access to health care books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals and book chapters.

Counseling and Therapy in Video, Volume I & Volume II

Contains more than 700 hours of training videos, reenactments, and footage of therapy sessions conducted by renowned counselors, psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers.  Volume II features experts such Albert Ellis, Allen Ivey and our own John Norcross.

Credo Reference

Credo Reference is a full-text online reference service. The collection includes over three million entries from hundreds of well-regarded titles from some of world's the best reference publishers. Contains dictionaries, bilingual dictionaries, thesauri, encyclopedias, quotations and atlases, plus a wide range of subject-specific titles covering everything from art to accountancy, science to Shakespeare and law to literature.


An Educational Resource Information Center provides access to education literature and resources from journals indexed in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index. The database contains more than 1,243,000 records and links to more than 224,000 full-text documents from ERIC.  

ERIC (Partial Full-Text)

Contains citations with abstracts to journal articles and a variety of documents (e.g., research reports, technical reports, books, and curricular materials) in the field of education. The coverage is from 1982 to the present year. Some full text.

Films on Demand

Films On Demand is a vendor of web-based digital video delivery service.


Provides access to journals, magazines, and newspapers in full text format. The subject areas covered are news, business, law, health, and reference. This database is updated daily, and sources can be searched for the last five or ten years, and in some cases back 30 plus years to provide bibliographic records. This database contains over 5200 sources.

MEDLINE (FirstSearch-Full Text)

Corresponds to the print edition of Index Medicus, Index to Dental Literature, and International Nursing Literature. Over 9,580 journals are indexed, beginning in 1965. The First Search version allows you to link your search results to the Weinberg Library holdings

MEDLINE/PubMed (Free to everyone)

MEDLINE is the largest component of PubMed, the freely accessible online database of biomedical journal citations and abstracts created by the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM®). Approximately 5,400 journals published in the United States and more than 80 other countries have been selected and are currently indexed for MEDLINE. MEDSCAPE (Free with registration)

Access to Medscape is FREE, but requires a one-time membership registration. Medscape is organized by medical specialty, with each supported specialty having its own custom Web Site. Medscape's content comes from an assortment of sources including: clinical eJournals, more than 50 medical journals and textbooks, professional medical news from Reuters, MedscapeWire, and medical news journal publishers, business and finance publishers, managed care and medical practice publishers, and more. This internet site is updated daily, and contains links to MEDLINE as well as other web-based medical sites.

Mental Measurements Yearbook (Full Text)

Mental Measurements Yearbook, produced by the Buros Institute, contains full text information about and reviews of all English language standardized tests covering educational skills, personality, vocational aptitude, psychology, and related areas. Includes information covered in the print version of this publication.

NLM Gateway (Free to everyone)

NLM Gateway is intended for the user who is new to the National Library of ’s online resources. It searches simultaneously: MEDLINE/PubMed, OLDMEDLINE, LOCATORplus, AIDS Meetings, Health Services Research Meetings, HSRProj, MEDLINEplus (the NLM’s database for medical consumers), and DIRLINE. In addition, it contains information that was formerly available in: AIDSLINE, BIOETHICSLINE, HealthSTAR, HISTLINE, POPLINE, SPACELINE, and TOXLINE.

ProQuest Psychology Journals

ProQuest Psychology Journals™ provides abstracts and indexing for more than 640 titles, with over 540 titles available in full text. Users get access to charts, diagrams, graphs, tables, photos, and other graphical elements essential to psychological research. Also includes 4,000 full text dissertations representing a range of psychology disciplines inlcuding behavioral, clinical, cognitive, developmental, experimental, industrial, personality, physiological, psychobiology, psychometrics and social psychology. Dissertation content is available from 2000 through 2005.

ProQuest Research Library

From business and political science to literature and psychology, ProQuest Research Library™ provides one-stop access to a wide range of popular academic subjects. The database includes more than 3,950 titles—over 2,700 in full text—from 1971 forward. It features a highly-respected, diversified mix of scholarly journals, trade publications, magazines, and newspapers. ProQuest Research Library consists of two components: a core list of periodicals; plus 15 supplemental subject-specific modules.

ProQuest Social Science Journals

ProQuest Social Science Journals™ includes over 535 titles, with more than 310 available in full text.  Topics include Addiction studies, Urban studies, Family studies, International relations, and more.

PsycArticles (EBSCO)

PsycARTICLES, published by the American Psychological Association, is recognized worldwide as a leading full text source for academic, research and practice literature in psychology and related disciplines. Featuring a continuously growing number of significant and highly regarded periodicals, the only electronic source for APA's journals. Features include cover to cover searching of each article, including graphics and captions, in-depth subject treatment from general psychology to more specialized topics including clinical and applied research, and  access to tables of contents and bibliographic citations.


Provides citations with abstracts from more than 1,300 international journals plus books and book chapters containing the literature of psychology and the behavioral sciences. Information dates from 1887 to the present.

SAGE Journals Online

Fulltext access to over 460 journals in business, humanities, social sciences, science, technology and caregivers. The Guide covers diseases, disorders, treatments, procedures, specialties, anatomy, biology, and issues in an A-Z format, with sidebars addressing recent developments in medicine and concise information boxes for all diseases and disorders.

Science Direct

Includes the full text of 175 Academic Press journals. Its aim is to improve access to scientific journals starting with the complete 1996 issues. Over 2000 articles are added monthly. Subject areas covered in this database are applied sciences, social sciences, dentistry,  nursing, economics, business law and finance.


SpringerLink is an integrated full-text database for journals and books published by Springer. SpringerLink currently offers full-text access to 73 philosophy journals and nearly 1000 philosophy books. To restrict your search to resources to which the Library has access, remove the check mark from the box that says “Include Preview-Only Content.”

Wiley Online Library

Indexes 1,000 journals, major reference works, online books, laboratory manuals and management resources. Fulltext of articles is available only for those journals to which the library subscribes. Indexing is interdisciplinary. Users may search all disciplines or select: business, life sciences, chemistry, mathematics and statistics, computer science, earth and environmental science, physics, astronomy, education, polymers and material science, engineering, psychology, law, and social sciences.
