American Physiological Society Journals

To access a search screen, you must first select a journal then choose the journals you want to search. Full text of the following American Journal of Physiology journals: AJP - Cell Physiology; AJP - Endocrinology and Metabolism; AJP - Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology; AJP - Heart and Circulatory Physiology; AJP - Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology; AJP - Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology; AJP - Renal Physiology; AJP - Consolidated; as well as the following journals: Journal of Applied Physiology, Journal of Neurophysiology, Physiological Reviews, News in Physiological Sciences, Advances in Physiology, Education, The Physiologist, APS Legacy Content  

Annual Reviews

A searchable database for bibliographic records from 1984-1995. Provides annual reviews of to over 29 fields in three subject areas (biology and medical sciences, physical sciences, and social sciences). Full-text from 1996 to the present. Updated annually.

Applied Science and Technology Full Text (H.W. Wilson):

Covers trade and industrial publications, journals issued by professional and technical societies, and specialized subject periodicals in sciences, engineering and technology from 1983 to the present.  

Biological and Agricultural Index Plus (H.W. Wilson):

Covers the entire range of sciences related to biology and agriculture. Indexes 335 key periodicals in the life sciences and agriculture. Includes current book reviews. Records cover 1983 to the present and are updated monthly.   

Current Contents Connect®

A database of journals and books covering the agricultural and life sciences.  Also includes reviews of and links to web resources.

Directory of Open Access Journals

This service covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals. As of August5, 2010, there are 5,255 journals in the directory, 2,188 journals are searchable at article level, and 430,565 articles are included in the DOAJ service.

Dissertations

Covers every doctoral dissertation completed in the U.S. at accredited institutions from 1861 to the present. Includes some master's theses and World Languages and Cultures dissertations. Updated monthly.  

Films on Demand

Films On Demand is a vendor of web-based digital video delivery service.

General Science Full Text (H.W. Wilson):

Indexing from 1984 for nearly 300 periodicals, many of which are peer-reviewed. In-depth abstracts of 50 to 150 words written by professionals with science backgrounds. From 1995 to the present, full text articles from nearly 100 periodicals.

HubMed (pubMed rewired)

An alternative interface for the PubMed database of the National Library of Medicine access to Medline.

Informaworld (Taylor & Francis Online

InformaWorld hosts journals, eBooks, abstract databases and reference works published by the Taylor & Francis group, Routledge, Psychology Press and Informa Healthcare.

Ingenta

Ingenta is a document delivery service and comprehensive index to over 23,000 scholarly scientific and technical journals. Several options allow you to set up an alerting service or deposit account for ordering articles sent to your desktop. The copyright and service fee is quite pricey, but the database is handy for verifying citations.

JSTOR (Full Text)

Provides full text access for scholarly journals in the areas of African-American studies, anthropology, Asian studies, ecology, economics, education, finance, history, literature, mathematics, philosophy, political science, and sociology. The Life Science Collection is also available. This database covers a complete journal run from the first issue up to the most recent three to five years.

MEDLINE (FirstSearch-Full Text)

Corresponds to the print edition of Index Medicus, Index to Dental Literature, and International Nursing Literature. Over 9,580 journals are indexed, beginning in 1965. The First Search version allows you to link your search results to the Weinberg Library holdings

PapersFirst

Indexes every published congress, symposium, conference exposition, workshop and meeting received by the British Library Document Supply Centre. Indexing begins in 1993.

PEDro

PEDro: the Physiotherapy Evidence Database provides bibliographic citations and abstracts of randomised controlled trials and systematic reviews in the area of physiotherapy. PEDro is an initiative of the Centre for Evidence-Based Physiotherapy (CEBP).

Proceedings

Proceedings indexes the published literature of the most significant conferences, symposia, seminars, colloquia workshops and conventions in a wide range of disciplines.

ProQuest Biology Journals

ProQuest Biology Journals™ provides access to a wide range of biology topics. The database includes over 320 titles, with more than 280 available in full text. With thousands of articles available online, ProQuest Biology Journals includes some of the most popular information resources for users in academic, government, and public research environments.

ProQuest Science Journals

ProQuest Science Journals provides research support for both the applied and general sciences. Coverage begins in 1986.  The 740  journals cover topics relating to all major fields of study, including: Physics, Engineering, Astronomy, Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, and many more.

Science Direct

Includes the full text of 175 Academic Press journals. Its aim is to improve access to scientific journals starting with the complete 1996 issues. Over 2000 articles are added monthly. Subject areas covered in this database are applied sciences, social sciences, dentistry,  nursing, economics, business law and finance.

Scientific American Archive Online

For over 160 years, Scientific American has been the source for understandable, authoritative reporting on developments in every field of science. Access the entire editorial content of Scientific American, Scientific American Mind, and all special issues from January 1993 to the present.

SpringerLink

SpringerLink is an integrated full-text database for journals and books published by Springer. SpringerLink currently offers full-text access to 73 philosophy journals and nearly 1000 philosophy books. To restrict your search to resources to which the Library has access, remove the check mark from the box that says “Include Preview-Only Content.”

Wiley Online Library

Indexes 1,000 journals, major reference works, online books, laboratory manuals and management resources. Fulltext of articles is available only for those journals to which the library subscribes. Indexing is interdisciplinary. Users may search all disciplines or select: business, life sciences, chemistry, mathematics and statistics, computer science, earth and environmental science, physics, astronomy, education, polymers and material science, engineering, psychology, law, and social sciences.
