Iordanis Petsas, Ph.D.
Dr. Jordan Petsas is an associate professor and the chairperson of the Economics/Finance Department. Jordan earned his bachelors degree from the University of Thessaloniki and his MA and PhD from Indiana University.
In fall 2012 the Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited Jordan to participate in the US Young Scholars and Experts Delegation Program which included scholars from some very prestigious universities – NYU, Brown, Columbia and Harvard. Jordan was asked to serve as eam leader in the program hat is designed to broaden understanding of Taiwanese perspectives on various global issues. Jordan not only contributed to the program but now incorporates some of the elements into his International Economics and Environment of International Business classes.
As department chairperson, Jordan has been a consistent supporter for faculty developing international courses. Also, as professor and chair, Jordan has been instrumental in helping students acquire key competencies that are necessary in an increasingly interdependent and global world.
