Dr. Conte spent 16 years as a bedside pediatric nurse with 10 years as a staff nurse on the oncology and bone marrow transplant units at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is active in practice as a nurse practitioner in the Scranton area. Dr. Conte is the coordinator for the yearly service trip to Newark, NJ. She is actively involved with the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses. Dr. Conte’s research areas of interest include self-care practices for nurses, work-related loss, grief and stress management among nurses and the experiences of young adult cancer survivors. She has presented her research throughout the country and has developed programs for nurses that focus on their own self-care and stress management. Dr. Conte is the instructor and course coordinator for the Pediatric nursing content at the undergraduate level.
