Rita DiLeo, DSc, MPA, RT, CRA, BSP
Bio
Dr. Rita DiLeo specialized in Special and Interventional Procedures as well as Nuclear Medicine. As a clinician, she worked at Scranton State General Hospital, and then as Director of Imaging for Catholic Health Partners (CHP). During her tenure with CHP she was offered an opportunity to represent a large, sub-specialty, physician-owned radiology practice: under her direction as Administrator, the group successfully opened a corporate office with her directly responsible for billing operations, accounting, human resources, pension and the multi-location, mobile imaging services. In addition, she coordinated services the group provided to multiple community hospitals and free standing imaging centers. Her passion for patient rights and improving outcomes led her to open a medical and professional telecommunications company and answering service.
As CEO for a privately held telecommunications company, she developed software that tracked practice management variables, patient call times and physician on call coverage. After selling her company, Rita returned to the clinical healthcare environment working with national companies in roles to include Administrator for Independent Diagnostic Treatment Facilities (IDTF), Director of Imaging Operations in Pennsylvania, and Executive Director of Sales for a national company. In her sales position, she received a national award for Excellence in Sales and Marketing. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Scranton teaching courses in both the graduate and undergraduate Health Administration programs. She is active in many non-for-profit organizations serving on numerous committees and boards.
Rita studied Radiology Technology at the Scranton State General Hospital in PA, successfully completing her state registry examination, and receiving the Outstanding Student Award from Squibb Pharmaceuticals. She earned a B.S. in Health Administration from The University of Scranton, and Master of Public Administration with a Gerontology concentration from Marywood University. She completed her professional contribution on research entitled, “Assessment of the Need for a Radiology Seminar Attended by Non-Radiologist Physicians” and her research is published. She is a Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) and Balanced Scorecard Professional (BSP). She earned her Doctorate of Science in Administration of Health Services from the University of Alabama at Birmingham completing her dissertation on “The Association of Designation as Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality and Patient Experience Scores" which is now published.
She is currently pursuing Fellow status (FACMPE) in medical practice management via the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE)
