OIM Faculty Research Biography
Dr. Kingsley Gnanendran's current research interests include the application of optimization modeling to supply-chain and production-inventory systems. He has made many presentations at national and international conferences, and his publications have appeared in journals such as Decision Support Systems, Mathematical Programming, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, SIAM Journal of Discrete Mathematics, and ASCE Journal of Environmental Engineering. He is a member of INFORMS (The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences) and APICS (The Association for Operations Management).
Dr. Deborah Gougeon's research interests include Statistics, Statistical Pedagogy, Quantitative Methods, and Data Mining. Her work has been published in many conference proceedings as well as academic journals such as the Pennsylvania Economic Review, the Educational Research Quarterly, and the Journal of Career Development. She has made over 25 presentations at international, national, and regional conferences such as the American Statistical Association, Mathematical Association of America, Decision Science Institute, Deming Conference on Applied Statistics, and the Pennsylvania Economics Association. She has published over 100 book reviews in CHOICE, a publication of the American Library Association. She is a member of the American Statistical Association, the Mathematical Association of America, and the Board of the Pennsylvania Economics Association
Dr. Kathleen Iacocca’s research interests include many areas of supply chain management including production-inventory system, supply chain coordination, pricing, forecasting, and improving efficiency of the supply chain through information sharing. Her current research uses mathematical modeling and empirical research in the areas of supply chain management and quality management to create new knowledge that aids in solving pressing and important real-world problems. Specifically, she is exploring applications in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries with regard to drug distribution and pricing. She presented many papers at national conferences and is a member of The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI)
Dr. Satya N. Prattipati conducts research on the impact of information and communication technologies on organizations and entrepreneurship. He presented many papers at national and international conferences, and published several papers in journals like Journal of Information Technology Management, Journal of Medical Systems, Information and Management, and others. He is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), and the Unites States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE). He is currently working on electronic medical records and regional health information exchanges.
Dr. Sufian Qrunfleh's research interests include supply-chain management, information technology, quality management, and international business. His current research explores the alignment of information systems with supply chains and its impact on supply chain performance and firm performance. His work has been published in many conference proceedings as well as in academic journals. He has published in Journal of Information Systems Management and Journal of Computer Information Systems.
Dr. Rose Sebastianelli maintains an active research agenda and has published more than 20 journal articles and has made over 70 presentations at international, national and regional conferences. Her current research interests are in the areas of quality management, e-quality, environmental sustainability and online business education. Her work has appeared in journals such as Decision Sciences, Quality Management Journal, Journal of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis, International Journal of Quality & Reliability Management, Internet Research, Journal of Internet Commerce and Quality Progress. She is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute, American Society for Quality, International Institute of Forecasters, and The Association for Operations Management (APICS).
Dr. Nabil Tamimi has an active research agenda with emphasis in the area of quality management. He has published more than 18 journal articles and made over 30 presentations at international, national and regional conferences. His research has appeared in journals such as Production and Inventory Management Journal, Quality Management Journal, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Quality & Reliability Management, Internet Research, Journal of Investing, Journal of Information Privacy and Security, Journal of Internet Commerce, and Quality Progress. He is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) and the Association for Operations Management (APICS).
