John M. Zych, Associate Professor of Marketing, earned a doctorate in marketing at Boston University, as well as an MBA from Babson College and a BS from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Prior to his academic career, he held product planning and development positions in the aerospace, transportation and communications industries. He has been teaching at the University of Scranton since 1991.
Dr. Zych’s research interests include new product development and pricing, marketing strategy, marketing communications, marketing ethics, and marketing education. He has integrated these interests in the classroom through development of a simulated live case of the automotive industry. The simulation engages students as active members of a product management team for an actual automotive brand. Each team follows and responds to changing market conditions as they unfold in real-time and develops a detailed marketing plan and presentation.
Dr. Zych currently teaches Introduction to Marketing, Marketing Communications and Marketing Strategy.
