The Honesdale National Bank Center for Economic Education
One of 12 centers for economic education located in Pennsylvania and 275 nationwide.
The mission of the Center is to promote K-12 economic education and to prepare students to compete and succeed in a changing global economy. The Center's primary objective is to offer presevice and inservice programs for K-12 teachers. From 2004 to 2010 the Center has conducted inservice programs for over 1,000 teachers. Over 10,000 students have participated in The Stock Market Game, one of the programs for which the Center has provided teacher training. The Center conducted The Financial Institute for Junior and High School Teachers training program for 100 teachers in January 2008. Wall Street West awarded a grant of $153 thousand for this program, a joint effort of The University of Scranton and Misericordia University.
