International Graduate Students

Congratulations on your acceptance into a Master's degree program at The University of Scranton! We want to take this opportunity to highlight a few important matters as you prepare to travel to Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA.

International Student Orientation

The international student orientation is scheduled for Friday, August 19, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at Brennan Hall, Room 509. The orientation is REQUIRED and is designed to support you while at the University of Scranton.  Please bring along your original passport and the immigration document called I-20 to the orientation.  If you arrive earlier than August 18, 2016, please come to the International Programs and Services Office located on the fifth floor of St Thomas Hall, Room 5106.


Beginning Monday, August 15, through Thursday, August 18, members of our student staff will be available to assist with your arrival at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport or the Scranton Transit Center between the hours of 8:00 a.m. (0800) and 8:00 p.m. (2000). An email with instructions to register your travel plans with our staff will be sent to your email address.

Please note that you must arrive in Scranton no later than Thursday, August 18.

Upon your arrival in Scranton, please bring your passport, visa, and I-20 to the Office of International Student and Scholar Services, located on the fifth floor of the St. Thomas Hall Communication Wing. The Office will be open from 9:00 a.m. (0900) to 4:00 p.m. (1600). We have included a map for your convenience.

Living in Scranton

Relocating to a new country can certainly be a challenge, particularly for a family. To help make this transition easier, our Office has developed a guide to the City of Scranton, complete with information on local school districts and apartment complexes recommended by our international student community.
